Happy Birthday Buffyverse!

I didn't start watching until 1999 and I would have only been 13... weird. I couldn't let the day pass without doing something, so I'm sharing 10 BtVS songs and my top 5 episodes - with pictures and comments.

Wearing Me Down ~ Dashboard Prophets (The Harvest)

Fate ~ Four Star Mary (Inca Mummy Girl)

Full of Grace ~ Sarah McLachlan (Becoming Part 2)

Tales of Brave Ulysses ~ Cream (Band Candy and Forever)

Wild Horses ~ The Sundays (The Prom)

I Can’t Take My Eyes Off You ~ Melanie Doane (Family)

Goodbye to You ~ Michelle Branch (Tabular Rasa)

Out of This World ~ Bush (Dead Things)

Blue ~ Angie Hart (Conversations with Dead People)

Pavlov’s Bell ~ Aimee Mann (Sleeper)

My Top Five Episodes (with pictures.)
1. Restless: You think you know. What's to come. What you are. You haven't even begun.
A great look at the four core characters. And full of foreshadowy goodness.

2. Once More, With Feeling: The hardest thing in this world is to live in it.
This could have gone incredibly wrong but since it's 2 on my list, I think you know what I think.

3. Fool for Love: Lesson the first: A Slayer must always reach for her weapon. I've already got mine.
Spike. Effulgent. Chaos demon - lol.The ending is really pretty. (I love the crossover of this on Angel.)

4. Innocence:  To kill this girl... you have to love her.
Emotional resonance and rocket launches! This is why I love this show.

5. The Gift:  She's a hero, you see. She's not like us.
100th episode, I always cry when I watch this. I'm glad the show didn't finish here, but if it had, it would have been a great ending.

I really did grow up with this show and I still love it. It made me want to be a writer and I'd like to think it saved me a little during the hardest times in my life.

(To my none BtVS f-list - I got my  ticket for Breakout today. I'm looking forward to seeing some of you there.)

Great list! I would add "The Body". However, that episode has the same problem the movie "Schindler's List" does: It's brilliant, but very painful to watch.

"The Body" hurts me, I cry all the way through it. It's really well written and feels like the most realistic death on TV that I've seen - which is saying something for a show with vampires in it. It's the best episode but also the most difficult to watch.

As a dispatcher, I can tell you that the way that 911 call went was also very realistic ... the only difference is that a lot more than just two rescuers would have been rushing through the door. There'd have been at least two paramedics and a couple of police officers, and considering the way Buffy cut the call off at least one police officer would have shown up, too.

But it's understandable that they wouldn't have wanted all those extra people busting in, it would have interfered with the storytelling. Just the same, I was really impressed at the 911 call, and I'm sure they consulted someone on how that would have progressed.
